Rice flour radish mochi
Daikon mochi is a popular snack or light meal. You can make it easily by julienned the daikon instead of grating it. By using rice flour instead of wheat flour, you can enjoy a crispy surface and a chewy texture inside.
[Ingredients] For 2 people | |
---|---|
Japanese white radish | Approx. 300g |
ham | 10g |
rice flour | 4 tbsp |
Sesame | 1 tbsp |
Chicken stock | A little |
salt | A little |
How to make
- Slice the radish into thin strips.
- Chop the ham into small pieces.
- Put the shredded daikon radish and chopped ham in a bowl, add the rice flour, chicken stock, and salt and mix.
- Add a lot of oil to a heated frying pan and fry 3.
- Once the ingredients are cooked thoroughly, flip them over and cook the other side.
- Once both sides are well cooked, it's done. Cut it into bite-sized pieces.
- Although it has plenty of flavour as is, we also recommend adding your favourite sauce to flavour the daikon mochi.
Recommended sauce for healthy, crispy and chewy daikon mochi
- Soy sauce + vinegar
- Ponzu sauce + sesame oil + white sesame seeds
- Soy sauce + mirin + sugar
- Sesame paste + ground sesame + sugar + soy sauce
- Miso + Sugar + Sake
- Yuzu pepper + soy sauce
- curry powder + sugar + soy sauce
If the sugar in the sauce doesn't mix well, put the ingredients in a pot and boil it until the sugar dissolves. You can enjoy a variety of flavors by arranging it to your liking, from simple sauces to ones with spices!
This time I used ham, but it would be fun to use shrimp, bacon, green onions, or whatever ingredients you have in your fridge.
