Black Rice
Purple black rice is a pigmented rice that is also known as ancient rice. It is highly nutritious and has a strong vitality, such as a higher germination rate when stored for a long period of time compared to white rice. In China, it was also called "medicinal rice" and is said to have been presented to successive emperors.
It is characterized by its high content of anthocyanin, a type of polyphenol well known for being found in wine and other foods.
Grown in a JAS-certified organic rice paddy field
In pursuit of safer rice production, rice bran extract (a moisturizing ingredient) is extracted from purple black rice grown without chemical fertilizers at TANABE FARM, an organic JAS-certified paddy field in Hiroshima Prefecture. At TANABE FARM, they are committed to producing rice that is kind to people and nature, and the rice is grown with love and care from planting to harvesting.
Organic JAS: A grading system based on the Japanese Agricultural Standards (JAS), and only farms and factories that meet the strict standards * are given this certification.
