Nutritious purple rice
Purple rice (black rice) is one of the basic ingredients of Chinese medicinal cuisine and is also called "medicinal rice." Brown rice looks black, but when slightly polished, it appears a deep purple color similar to adzuki beans. Compared to white rice, it is rich in vitamins, iron, and calcium, and also contains trace amounts of minerals such as zinc, copper, and manganese.
Grown in a JAS-certified organic rice paddy field

Mr. Shinzo Tanabe, Representative Director of TANABE FARM Co., Ltd.
In pursuit of safer rice production, rice bran extract (a moisturizing ingredient) is extracted from purple black rice grown without chemical fertilizers at TANABE FARM, an organic JAS-certified paddy field in Hiroshima Prefecture. At TANABE FARM, they are committed to producing rice that is kind to people and nature, and the rice is grown with love and care from planting to harvesting.
Organic JAS: A grading system based on the Japanese Agricultural Standards (JAS), and only farms and factories that meet the strict standards * are given this certification.
*An institution approved by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries inspects the produce based on several criteria, such as "no pesticides have been used for at least three years, no chemical fertilizers have been used, and no environmental damage has been caused by cultivation." As a result, only businesses that are deemed to meet the organic produce certification standards are given the certification.

Light purple "purple rice"

Simply cook it together with white rice to enjoy the chewy texture and colorful appearance. It also improves the nutritional balance.
Purple black rice has been used since ancient times as an offering to the gods and for celebrations, and is said to be the origin of ohagi. It is highly nutritious and is also known as "medicinal rice" in China, where it is attracting attention as a superfood.
How to make
- Measuring: Measure out 1 tablespoon of black rice for every 1 cup of white rice. Adjust the amount of white rice and black rice to your liking.
- Wash the white rice first. Then quickly wash the black rice and add it to the white rice.
- Use the same amount of water as when cooking white rice. If you soak the rice in water for 30 minutes to an hour, it will cook nice and fluffy.
- Loosen: Once steaming is finished, loosen the entire rice so that air is evenly absorbed.
